U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-9) encourages the public to review and comment on Ameren's proposal to redraw the Lake of the Ozarks project boundary to the 662-contour by January 15, 2012, by visiting AmerenMissouri.com/Lake.

U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-9) encourages the public to review and comment on Ameren’s proposal to redraw the Lake of the Ozarks project boundary to the 662-contour by January 15, 2012, by visiting AmerenMissouri.com/Lake.

Luetkemeyer said concerned citizens also can submit comments on the plan by email at lake@ameren.com; by phone at 573-365-9203; or by mail to Project Boundary Comments, Ameren Missouri Shoreline Management, P. O. Box 993, Lake Ozark, MO 65049.

“I believe there is a need for discussions between Lake-area citizens, Ameren and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on the shoreline management plan for the Lake,” Luetkemeyer said. “I appreciate Ameren’s willingness to work quickly to address the concerns of Lake-area citizens. Ameren’s request for public comments will provide folks with an excellent opportunity to gather information and ask questions.”

Ameren recently released a proposal on project boundary changes at the Lake of the Ozarks, which must be approved by FERC before they can take effect. Ameren proposes to establish the project boundary at the Lake to 662 feet elevation and in certain locations in order to remove all residential dwellings the line will be adjusted below elevation 662. According to Ameren, the proposed changes do not impact existing land ownership or property rights.

Ameren next month is holding two public meetings on the proposal: Osage Beach: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, January 3, Inn at the Grand Glaze, 5142 Highway 54; Sunrise Beach: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, January 5, Lake West Christian Academy, 17178 North State Highway 5.
