Luetkemeyer on President's Visit to Northeast Missouri

It is important that the President has chosen to visit the hard-working people of Northeast Missouri so he can hear what I have been hearing for the past 15 months: folks are angry about the government takeover of health care, job-killing cap-and-tax legislation, endless bailouts and the failed stimulus package.
HANNIBAL - Following is a statement from U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-9) on the President’s April 28th visit to Macon that was confirmed by the White House:
“It is important that the President has chosen to visit the hard-working people of Northeast Missouri so he can hear what I have been hearing for the past 15 months: folks are angry about the government takeover of health care, job-killing cap-and-tax legislation, endless bailouts and the failed stimulus package. In the 25 counties of our district, people on Main Street have embraced common sense solutions to creating jobs and cutting taxes, and are soundly rejecting a President and Congressional Majority that have ignored our voices for too long. I can only hope that the President will spend time here actually listening to the people of Northeast Missouri instead of lecturing them. As Hannibal’s favorite son Mark Twain once wrote: ‘That’s the difference between governments and individuals. Governments don’t care, individuals do.’”
