Luetkemeyer Marks 224th Anniversary of Our Constitution, Celebrates Constitution Day

As our nation celebrates the 224th Anniversary of our Constitution, we should all take a moment to reflect on the importance of this revered document. Our Constitution gives the power to the people of this great country and not to the government; the government exists to serve and protect the interests of the people.

U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-9) issued the following statement commemorating the 224th Anniversary of our nation’s Constitution and celebrating Constitution Day, which is September 17th:

“As our nation celebrates the 224th Anniversary of our Constitution, we should all take a moment to reflect on the importance of this revered document. Our Constitution gives the power to the people of this great country and not to the government; the government exists to serve and protect the interests of the people. We are citizens, not servants. It is my greatest honor to serve the people of Missouri in the United States Congress, and I will continue to fight for them in Washington each and every day.”

Constitution Day commemorates the formation and signing of the U.S. Constitution on September 17, 1787.
