Luetkemeyer Statement Recognizing Korean War Armistice Signed in 1953

Today I honor the supreme sacrifices made by the thousands of Americans who fought and died on the Korean Peninsula to prevent the spread of communism. We owe a great deal of gratitude to all the men and women who selflessly protected our freedom.

The following is a statement from U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-9) recognizing the signing of the Korean War Armistice agreement signed on July 27, 1953.

“Today I honor the supreme sacrifices made by the thousands of Americans who fought and died on the Korean Peninsula to prevent the spread of communism. We owe a great deal of gratitude to all the men and women who selflessly protected our freedom. Americans should also give thanks to those currently preserving the peace by containing North Korean aggression.”
