Luetkemeyer Backs Effort to Rein in National Labor Relations Board, Protect American Jobs

U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-9) voted today in favor of the Protecting Jobs From Government Interference Act, legislation that would prohibit the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) from ordering any employer to relocate, shut down, or transfer employment under any circumstance, and would provide employers with the certainty they need to invest in our economy and put Americans back to work.

The legislation is the result of a NLRB complaint against the Boeing Co., which recently opened an assembly plant in South Carolina.

“Actions speak louder than words and while the president talks a lot about jobs, the NLRB’s attempt to prevent a private employer from creating new American manufacturing jobs in a place of its choosing demonstrates that this administration is still out of touch with the American people,” Luetkemeyer said. “Americans are in desperate need of quality jobs and the last thing the government should be doing is putting up roadblocks that hinder businesses from investing in our nation’s economy and putting people back to work. Americans do not like Washington bureaucrats dictating how they can act. “
