Luetkemeyer Reacts to Ameren Decision to Expedite Timeline on FERC Proposal

U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-9) today issued the following statement after Ameren announced it would release in the first quarter of next year a shoreline management proposal to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) that will impact property owners at the Lake of the Ozarks.

“I am pleased to see that Ameren recognizes that this is an important issue to the residents of the Lake of the Ozarks. Ameren’s commitment to resolve the boundary issues is a positive development that will help resolve the issue quickly, while protecting area property owners. I encourage Ameren to work with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission in a most expedient manner to resolve any remaining differences,” Luetkemeyer said.

Earlier this month FERC indicated that the shoreline plan at the Lake of the Ozarks would not adversely impact lake area landowners. Today, Ameren said that the submission of its proposal to resolve the boundary issues will be in the first quarter of 2012, well in advance of the original plan deadline of June 2012.
