“I want to congratulate the Columbia College Cougars and Coach Bob Burchard on their gutsy performance in the NAIA men’s national basketball championship game. As unseeded underdogs, the Cougars showed the determination and heart of a true champion throughout the season even though they fell just short in the finals. They believed in themselves, and their appearance in the championship game certainly made believers out of  the rest of the nation.”
