U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-9) today voted in support of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2010 (H.R. 2647), which includes a well-deserved pay increase for our military men and women.

The legislation calls for an increase in basic pay beginning on January 1, 2010, of 3.4 percent a month. Luetkemeyer has been a supporter of military pay raises, signing on as a cosponsor of H.R.1864, which increases pay to our military men and women.
“Our nation’s military men and women’s love of freedom brought them to service for our great country and that is why I was honored to support a pay increase for this deserving group of patriots,” Luetkemeyer said. “Their heroic efforts on and off the battlefield in defense of freedom and liberty is awe-inspiring.”

Earlier this week, Luetkemeyer supported the passage of four key pieces of veterans’ legislation to make cost-of-living adjustments for veterans’ benefits, enhance information regarding scholarships for veterans and their families, address health care concerns for women veterans and ensure funding for veterans health care programs.
