Luetkemeyer Hears People's Voice, Votes to Repeal Government Takeover of Health-Care

Missouri is the Show-Me State, and today's vote in the House to repeal the Democrats' job-killing health-care law demonstrates that we are serious about listening to the American people, as we have now put their will into action.

U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-9) issued the following statement after voting to repeal the job-killing health-care law that was passed by the previous Congress:

“Missouri is the Show-Me State, and today’s vote in the House to repeal the Democrats’ job-killing health-care law demonstrates that we are serious about listening to the American people, as we have now put their will into action.  A great many of my constituents have long opposed the administration’s job-killing health-care law, because they know it raises taxes, increases health-care costs, and adds to the national debt. Throughout the health-care debate, Republicans offered a more responsible, incremental approach to improve our health-care system, and in a way that controls costs and provides the quality of care that Americans deserve. I look forward to continuing to advocate in favor of these solutions in the 112th Congress.”

The Repealing the Job-Killing Health Care Law Act, sponsored by Majority Leader Eric Cantor, passed the U.S. House by a vote of 245-189.
