Following is a statement from U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-9) regarding the president’s State of the Union Address tonight:

“The American people want to know that their voices are being heard and the president must prove that he is finally willing to listen by proposing concrete solutions to controlling spending, tackling the debt, and removing the heavy hand of government from people’s lives so that the private sector can create the jobs and expand economic opportunities desperately needed to grow our economy.  Instead of more political theater, the president needs to demonstrate that he is willing to turn his back on his failed policies of the past and make real-world changes to create jobs and reduce out-of-control government spending.”
