U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-9) released the following statement commemorating yesterday’s 100th anniversary of President Ronald Reagan’s birth:

“As our nation commemorates the 100th birthday of our 40th President Ronald Reagan, we also remember his bold leadership and his support of our free market principles and a strong national defense. Ronald Reagan believed in the strength of the American people and not the government to make our lives better. He stood steadfast against the Soviet Union and set the stage for the fall of communism and the end of the Cold War. Ronald Reagan had confidence in our country at a time when many didn’t, and to this day serves as an inspiration to a generation of Americans who are still inspired by his leadership and conservative principles that continue to echo across our country.”
