Luetkemeyer Votes to Defund Obamacare

The majority of the people who hired me as their representative have made it loud and clear that they opposed having the bitter pill known as government-controlled health-care forced down their throats.

U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-9) issued the following statement after voting a second time to defund the health-care bill. H.Con.Res. 35, a sidebar resolution considered separate from the underlying bill that would fund the government through the rest of Fiscal Year 2011, would defund the health-care bill.

“The majority of the people who hired me as their representative have made it loud and clear that they opposed having the bitter pill known as government-controlled health-care forced down their throats. Our economic recovery has been erratic, at best, and will remain stalled until we tackle the flood of regulations that are hidden in the health-care bill. People continue to send a loud message to Washington that they want the job-killing government takeover of health-care repealed, and that’s exactly what we are doing in the House.”
