Luetkemeyer Begins Second Term, Committed to Listening to and Fighting for Constituents

The people of the 9th District have made it abundantly clear that it's time for a new direction in Washington, and that means making the tough decisions that will keep taxes low, reduce out-of-control spending, and create jobs for hard-working families.

U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-9) issued the following statement after being sworn in today as a member of the 112th Congress, which marks the beginning of his second term in the U.S. House of Representatives.

“The people of the 9th District have made it abundantly clear that it’s time for a new direction in Washington, and that means making the tough decisions that will keep taxes low, reduce out-of-control spending, and create jobs for hard-working families. I also remain committed to listening to the people of the 9th District and returning to Missouri every weekend. We have many challenges before us, but together we can build a more secure future for ourselves, for our children and for our grandchildren. So let’s get to work.”

Luetkemeyer, 58, a native of St. Elizabeth, Mo., was first elected in 2008 and was re-elected in November 2010. The 9th Congressional District of Missouri consists of all or part of 25 counties in northeast and central Missouri. Luetkemeyer, a farmer and former small businessman, is married with three children and one grandchild.
