Luetkemeyer Statement on National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day

When our great nation was attacked at Pearl Harbor on the morning of December 7, 1941, our brave men and women in uniform fought as best they could amidst a devastating and unprovoked attack. In the wake of that tragedy, our greatest generation showed a resolve and tenacity that would lead to ultimate victory in the Pacific.

Following is a statement from U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-9) in remembrance of the sacrifice and bravery shown on the morning of December 7, 1941:

“When our great nation was attacked at Pearl Harbor on the morning of December 7, 1941, our brave men and women in uniform fought as best they could amidst a devastating and unprovoked attack. In the wake of that tragedy, our greatest generation showed a resolve and tenacity that would lead to ultimate victory in the Pacific. Having had the privilege to have met some of those brave individuals who fought the great battles of the Pacific, I would encourage all of us to take a moment to recognize those who perished that fateful day and honor the survivors who continued the fight against unchecked aggression. They all made remarkable sacrifices to protect the very freedom and liberty that we as Americans enjoy today.”
