Luetkemeyer Statement on Federal Pay Freeze

As someone who has spent the last two years fighting to reduce government spending despite the objections of the current Majority in the House, I am encouraged by the White House's proposal.

U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-9) today issued the following statement regarding President Obama’s call for a two year freeze in civilian pay for federal employees:

“As someone who has spent the last two years fighting to reduce government spending despite the objections of the current Majority in the House, I am encouraged by the White House’s proposal. I will continue to fight to reduce government spending, including my support for a balanced budget amendment and a return to 2008 pre-bailout spending levels. It is important to remember that the Republican Pledge to America includes a variety of cuts that we believe the President and current Majority should also take action on to show they are serious about eliminating bloated government spending.”
