Luetkemeyer Veterans Day Statement

There are many symbols that help remind us of the sacrifices of our veterans, and we see them all across our great nation. There are the long rows of white headstones that cover the sacred grounds at Arlington National Cemetery and the statutes and plaques that dot our small towns from coast to coast.

U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-9) issued the following statement in honor of Veterans Day:

“There are many symbols that help remind us of the sacrifices of our veterans, and we see them all across our great nation. There are the long rows of white headstones that cover the sacred grounds at Arlington National Cemetery and the statutes and plaques that dot our small towns from coast to coast. If you look closely this Veterans Day, you will see veterans who brought back with them visible scars of their time on the battlefield. Our wounded and disabled soldiers are national treasures who are faced with challenges as a result of their selfless service to our country. From Bunker Hill to Afghanistan, our wounded and disabled veterans have returned home facing lives dramatically changed by their military experiences. This Veterans Day let us remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice and recognize those who returned home in good health and continue to support those who face many challenges back here at home.”
