Small farmer and House Agriculture Committee member U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-9) has been awarded the American Farm Bureau Federation’s “Friend of Farm Bureau” for his efforts on behalf of hard-working American farm families.

The award is given to individuals who have supported Farm Bureau issues, as shown by their voting records, and who were nominated by their respective state Farm Bureau and approved by the Board of Directors of the American Farm Bureau Federation. The voting records were based on issues selected by the American Farm Bureau Federation Board of Directors.

“As someone from rural Missouri, I am especially sensitive to the many issues that are facing America’s family farms, and I will continue to work on issues designed to improve the quality of life for these hard-working folks,” said Luetkemeyer, who owns and still works his 160-acre farm in St. Elizabeth, Mo. “I am honored to receive this award from the Farm Bureau Federation and will continue to work on behalf of our critical agricultural industry.”
