“Contrary to its advertising, H.R. 4154 will actually cause a massive tax increase on families, farmers, and small businesses at a time when our economy is struggling and unemployment is high.  The responsible decision for our economy today would have been to pass H.R. 205, the Death Tax Repeal Act, which would permanently eliminate this onerous tax on money that families, farmers, and small businesses have already paid taxes on once.  Instead of providing relief, the bill passed today fixes the tax rate at 45 percent and confirms that the majority is committed to taxing everything in America, including death.”
