Luetkemeyer Fights for the Rights of the Unborn

I have consistently and very publicly fought for the rights of the unborn for many years and I firmly believe that all human life is significant and deserves to be treated with the highest dignity and respect. I will continue to support legislation that protects the unborn and will vigorously oppose measures that either expand abortion or allow taxpayer dollars to be used for abortions.
U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-9) today issued the following statement regarding tomorrow’s anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court’s January 22, 1973, decision legalizing abortion:

“I have consistently and very publicly fought for the rights of the unborn for many years and I firmly believe that all human life is significant and deserves to be treated with the highest dignity and respect. I will continue to support legislation that protects the unborn and will vigorously oppose measures that either expand abortion or allow taxpayer dollars to be used for abortions.”
Luetkemeyer is a proud co-sponsor of a number of important pieces of pro-life legislation, including H.R.634, the Child Interstate Abortion Notification Act, introduced by Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, R-FL, which would prohibit the taking of a minor across state lines for an abortion in order to avoid parental notification and consent laws, as well as H.R.649, the Ultrasound Informed Consent Act, introduced by Rep. Jim Jordan, R-OH, which would ensure that women seeking an abortion receive an ultrasound and the opportunity to review the ultrasound before consenting to terminating the pregnancy.
