The U.S. House of Representatives today passed a resolution sponsored by U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-9) honoring Missouri native Dr. Larry Case for his 26 years of service to the National FFA Organization.

“With passage of this resolution, Congress properly recognized Dr. Case’s tireless work on behalf of the future of agriculture in Missouri and across our great nation,” Luetkemeyer said. “Leading by example, Dr. Case’s contributions to improving agricultural education in the country are worthy of this kind of recognition.”

Dr. Case, who will retire on January 1, 2011, is a former FFA member from Stet, Mo., and earned a bachelor’s degree in agricultural education, master’s degree in vocational education and doctorate of education from the University of Missouri. He began his career as an agricultural education instructor in Mendon, Mo., in 1966 and served as the director of agricultural education for the Missouri Department of Agriculture before coming to Washington, D.C. in 1984.

As an advisor, chief executive officer and chairman of the board of directors of the National FFA Organization, Dr. Case provided national leadership and advisory service to states for secondary, postsecondary and adult instructional programs relating to agriculture. During Dr. Case’s tenure, FFA saw tremendous growth in membership and educational innovation.
