U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-9) issued the following statement regarding the deployment of the Missouri National Guard Agri-business Development Team IV.  The Missouri National Guard will host a deployment ceremony for this team tomorrow at the Ike Skelton Training Site in Jefferson City. This unit will complete its training at Camp Atterbury in Indiana before deployment to the Nangarhar Province in Afghanistan:

“Our military men and women on the ground in Afghanistan are doing a tremendous job to help stabilize this nation and bring freedom to this country, and the National Guard’s Agri-business Development Teams are a vital part of this effort. The National Guard ADTs have a big mission. They help to modernize agriculture practices and increase food production in this war-torn country. I want to commend the sacrifices of the brave men and women who are working to bring freedom and stability to this nation.”

Earlier this year the U.S. House of Representatives passed Luetkemeyer’s resolution, H. Res. 1075, which recognizes the outstanding efforts of the National Guard’s Agri-business Development Teams to help war torn nations like Afghanistan improve their agriculture economy.
