Luetkemeyer Co-Sponsors Measure Demanding Up-Or-Down Vote on Government Health Care

In an effort to preserve and protect the role of Americans in our representative form of government, U.S. Rep. In an effort to preserve and protect the role of Americans in our representative form of government, U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-9) is an original co-sponsor of a bipartisan measure to be offered today that will force an up-or-down vote on government-controlled health care being forced upon Americans by the President and Majority in Congress.

If passed by the House, the resolution would prevent Speaker Nancy Pelosi from implementing the “Slaughter Solution,” the scheme by which Majority leaders are seeking to pass the Senate’s government takeover of health care bill without actually voting on it.
“As an elected representative of the people, it is my duty to ensure that the American people have a voice, which is why the people of this country deserve an up-or-down vote on the health care bill. The Majority’s constitutionally questionable ‘Slaughter Solution’ defies the will of the American people, while attempting to eliminate any trace of actually doing so. Anyone who votes against the resolution is not only letting down the American people but is harming our democracy,” said Luetkemeyer, one of the co-sponsors of the bill.
The resolution is being sponsored by U.S. Rep. Parker Griffith of Alabama, a physician who recently left the Democratic Party to become a Republican.
