In recognition to his commitment to economic growth through lower taxes and reduced government spending, and his support of liberty, personal responsibility, traditional values and national security, U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-9) received a top rating from the American Conservative Union (ACU) for his efforts in 2009.
“My goal from day one has been to represent the people of the 9th District by opposing out-of-control government spending and higher spending in order to promote economic growth,” Luetkemeyer said. “As a freshman lawmaker, I believe that it is time for the government to start showing fiscal restraint, while protecting our liberty, promoting personal responsibility, protecting traditional values and strengthening our national security.”
The ACU award is given to members of the House and Senate who scored 80 percent or higher on a wide variety of issues of interest to grassroots conservatives voted on during the first session of the 111th Congress. Founded in 1964, the ACU is the oldest and largest grassroots conservative organization in the country.
