U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-9) today congratulated Jessie Fowler of Vandalia who is being recognized for her exemplary volunteer service in the 17th Annual Prudential Spirit of Community Awards.

Jessie, 17, of Vandalia, was recognized as a Distinguished Finalist and will receive a bronze medallion in honor of her commitment to community service. She is currently a senior at Van-Far High School. Jessie is a member of the Missouri 4-H and is an active community leader where she serves on the council of the Missouri State 4-H, and an Awana’s leader, where she teaches scripture to kindergarten children.

“I want to congratulate Jessie for her commitment to community service and for the example she sets on highlighting the importance of giving back to our communities,” Luetkemeyer said. “Jessie truly represents a bright future for our district, our state and our country.”

The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards, created by Prudential Financial and the National Association of Secondary School Principals, is designed to emphasize the importance our nation places on service to others, and to encourage all young Americans to contribute to their communities. The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards represents the largest youth recognition program in the country based solely on volunteer service.
