Luetkemeyer Receives American Financial Leadership Award for Work on Economic Issues

U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-9) has been recognized for his leadership on financial and economic issues with the 2011 American Financial Leadership Award from The Financial Services Roundtable.

U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-9) has been recognized for his leadership on financial and economic issues with the 2011 American Financial Leadership Award from The Financial Services Roundtable.

Since 1998, the award has been given annually in recognition of leadership on financial and economic issues that help Americans achieve financial independence and that afford financial services firms the flexibility to respond to consumer needs.

Luetkemeyer’s experience as a former bank examiner, small businessman, insurance agent, and community banker serves him well as a member of the House Financial Services Committee. He also serves on two key subcommittees: Financial Institutions & Consumer Credit and Domestic Monetary Policy & Technology.

“One of my goals in Congress has been to provide an environment where American families can succeed through a combination of hard-work and economic freedom. I am humbled that these efforts have been recognized with this award,” Luetkemeyer said.

The Financial Services Roundtable seeks to protect and promote the economic vitality and integrity of its members and the United States financial system. The Roundtable is currently lead by its President and Chief Executive Officer Steve Bartlett, a former congressman and mayor of Dallas, and counts a number of Missouri firms among its members.

“I would like to thank Blaine for his strong leadership on financial regulatory reform and congratulate him on this well-deserved recognition,” Bartlett said.
