Argyle, Mo. Teen Named 9th District Winner in Annual Congressional Art Competition

Emily, a senior at Fatima High School in Westphalia, Mo. will have her work displayed along with other winners from congressional districts around the country in the Cannon Tunnel at the U.S. Capitol. Emily, whose art teacher is Sonya Walker, will have the opportunity to attend a ceremony in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, June 20, to unveil all winning artwork from across the nation.

“Emily’s drawing is both haunting and beautiful. Clearly, Emily possesses special artistic talent and that made the difference in this year’s extremely competitive art contest,” Luetkemeyer said. “All of our competitors submitted pieces of art that were of outstanding quality and I thank them all for their efforts.”
