Calling all young artists in the 3rd Congressional District of Missouri: U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-3) wants your artwork!

Luetkemeyer announced that he is seeking high school-age artists to submit their work to his district offices as part of the 2014 Congressional Art Competition. The details about the competition were recently sent to all high school art teachers throughout the district.

“Year in and year out I have seen very impressive pieces of artwork from across the district,” Luetkemeyer said. “It is always a pleasure to be wowed by these artists and to share their work with constituents and visitors to Washington, D.C. and our offices in Jefferson City, Wentzville, and Washington, Mo.”

The winning entry from the 3rd District will not only be recognized in the local competition but will be displayed in Washington, D.C. for a year. The 3rd District’s winning student will also have the opportunity to attend a ceremony in our nation’s capital this summer for the official unveiling of the winning artwork from around the nation. All runners-up will be displayed in Luetkemeyer’s congressional offices.

All entries and release forms must be delivered by 5 p.m. on Friday, April 18, to one of Luetkemeyer’s three district offices: 2117 Missouri Boulevard, Jefferson City, Mo. 65109; 516 Jefferson Street, Washington, Mo.; or 113 East Pearce Boulevard, Wentzville, Mo., 63385.

The 3rd District consists of the following 13 counties: Callaway, Camden, Cole, Franklin, Gasconade, Jefferson, Lincoln, Maries, Miller, Montgomery, Osage, St. Charles and Warren.
