Kelsey Libbert of Osage County Named Winner of Congressional Art Competition for 3rd District

The winning entries, along with three runnersup, were selected by well known Mid-Missouri artist and editorial cartooonist Jim Dyke.

Kelsey, a senior at Fatima High School, will have her work displayed along with other winners from congressional districts around the country in the Cannon Tunnel at the U.S. Capitol.  Kelsey, whose art teacher is Sonya Walker, will have the opportunity to attend a ceremony in Washington, D.C. this summer where all winning artwork from across the nation will be displayed.

The first runner-up was Brie Henderson, a senior from Russellville High School with her pen work “Frog.” Brie’s art teacher is Michelle Turner. Tatym Brown, a sophomore from Iberia High School, was the second-runner up with the piece “Branch of Solitude.” Brown’s art teacher is Tiffany Caldwell. The third runner-up was O’Fallon Christian High School senior Haley Gamber with her scratchboard piece “The Arts.” Haley’s art teacher is Bobbie Flannery. 

A total of 14 works were submitted from across the 3rd Congressional District consisting of the following 13 counties: Callaway, Camden, Cole, Franklin, Gasconade, Jefferson, Lincoln, Maries, Miller, Montgomery, Osage, St. Charles and Warren.
