WASHINGTON, D.C. _ U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-3) today expressed his continued support for creation of a select committee to investigate the September 11, 2012, attack on Benghazi that killed four Americans. Earlier today, House Speaker John Boehner issued a statement that the House will soon take a vote to establish a new select committee to investigate the attacks. Luetkemeyer was one of the co-sponsors of House Resolution 36 that would authorize a Select Committee on Benghazi: “Four Americans are dead and from Day 1 this Administration has misled the American people about the circumstances surrounding this terrorist attack. The Administration’s repeated attempts to withold information about this terrorist attack is incredibly alarming. This Select Committee must be allowed to investigate every aspect of this case so that the American people can finally learn the truth behind the death of these four heroes. There is still much that we don’t know and I look forward to supporting the creation of this Select Committee so that justice can be served through a fair and thorough investigatory process.” |
