The following is a statement from U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-03) after being named Chairman of the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Housing and Insurance:

“The faith that has been placed in me leaves me humbled and honored. I look forward to being the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Housing and Insurance in the 114^th Congress and working with my colleagues to tackle the important issues happening across our nation. In addition, I want to thank Chairman Hensarling for this opportunity and for his dedicated service to the Financial Services Committee.”

Luetkemeyer is a great choice to chair the Housing and Insurance Subcommittee,” Financial Services Committee Chairman Jeb Hensarling said. “With the combination of his background and his knowledge of housing and insurance issues, I am confident he will lead the subcommittee in the right direction in the 114^th Congress.”

Luetkemeyer has served on the House Financial Services Committee since the 112^th Congress. In the 113^th Congress, he served as Vice Chairman of the Subcommittee on Housing and Insurance.
