The following is a statement from U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-03) after being sworn in to the 114th Congress:

“Being sworn in today has left me incredibly honored and energized for the new Congress. It’s a very humbling moment with my wife by my side, repeating the oath of office, and thinking about the task the 3rd District has placed upon me. Our nation has come to a critical juncture and there are a lot of passionate issues that are in front of Congress and I will continue to fight for the beliefs of my constituents. It is my hope that over the next two years the House and the Senate will be able to work together to work on behalf of Americans that sent us to Congress to make changes such as holding the administration accountable, repealing the president’s health-care law, and getting people back to work.”

House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) conducted the ceremonial swearing in for Luetkemeyer following the oath of office on the floor of the House of Representatives.
