Today, U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-03) announced information regarding this year’s annual Congressional Art Competition that takes place in the House of Representatives.

The 2015 Congressional Art Competition seeks artwork from high school students throughout the 3rd District, and requires work to be submitted to Luetkemeyer’s district offices for entry. The details about the competition were sent to all high school art teachers throughout the district a few weeks earlier.

“Each year I look forward to seeing the work the talented young artists submit to the Congressional Art Competition,” Luetkemeyer said. “It’s very special to walk through the Cannon Tunnel, where all of the artwork is displayed, and be impressed with these young artists’ creativity.”

The winning entry from the 3rd District will be recognized in the local competition and it will also be displayed in Washington, D.C for one year. The 3rd District’s winning student will also have the opportunity to attend a ceremony in our nation’s capital this summer for the official unveiling of the winning artwork. All runners-up will be displayed in Luetkemeyer’s congressional offices.

Entries and release forms must be submitted to any one of Luetkemeyer’s district offices in Wentzville, Washington, Mo, or Jefferson City by Friday, March 6, 2015 at 5 p.m. Please note that entries may be submitted prior to the deadline. The winner and runners-up will be contacted once the judging has been completed.

The 3rd District consists of all or part of the following 13 counties: Callaway, Camden, Cole, Franklin, Gasconade, Jefferson, Lincoln, Maries, Miller, Montgomery, Osage, St. Charles, and Warren.
