Luetkemeyer Offers Resources as Flood Warnings are Issued in Missouri

U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-03) issued the following statement in response to the high level of rainfall that areas of the 3rd District are experiencing:

U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-03) issued the following statement in response to the high level of rainfall that areas of the 3rd District are experiencing:

“With flood warnings now in place throughout much of Missouri, including the 3rd District, I wanted to ensure that individuals have access to information they may need. With more rain expected to continue through the week and the weekend, I hope everyone stays safe on the roads and I want everyone to be aware of the resources that are available to them.”

Kansas Corps of Army Engineers (Missouri River) – Emergency Operations Center has been activated – Level II Emergency Watch: http://www.nwk.usace.army.mil/Missions/EmergencyManagement

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Emergency Operations Center in Kansas City remains at “Level III Emergency Watch”.  A flood emergency has been declared, which opened the door for technical assistance and assistance through Public Law 84-99 for damage meeting certain qualifications under the levee rehab program.

The Mississippi River is slightly above flood stage at the upper locks with no major impacts at this time. Many of the recreation areas on the Upper Mississippi are closed due to inundation. The rain impacts are forecasted to be more targeted for the St. Louis region which could have an impact on Melvin Price Locks and Dam.
