Blaine's Bulletin: President Trump's Visit to St. Charles

For years, Missourians have been demanding relief from our nation’s overwhelming tax code and hoping for a plan that allows them to keep more of their own money and creates jobs in the local community. The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, as written in the House, is projected to create an additional 19,166 jobs in the Show-Me State and raise after tax income for middle class Missouri families by an average of $2,421.

Just days ago, I held a couple of women-owned small business roundtables in the 3rd District. During one of the conversations, we were discussing the tax plan and one of the small business owners said if the tax cuts in this plan will help her save more money, she will be able to invest and grow her business. That is exactly what the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act is intended to do – unleash the economy and help our small businesses grow.

President Trump knows what tax reform means for hard-working Missourian and people across the country.  It was my sincere honor to welcome President Trump to the St. Charles Convention Center where he spoke directly to Missourians about how tax reform will help families in our state and region keep more of their own money.  And a system that is so easy that people will be able to file their taxes on a postcard eliminates the need to either pay someone else to crunch the numbers or spend hours wrestling with a computer program.

The President has been on the frontline calling for aggressive and meaningful changes to our nation’s tax code. The United States has massive economic potential just waiting to be unleashed.  Instead of spending countless hours and millions of dollars figuring out how much money will be taken by the IRS, businesses small and large will be able to reinvest in their companies and put more people to work. Americans work too hard and produce too many great products to have our economy weighed down by outdated laws and elected officials who lack the courage to make tough decisions.

It was incredible to have President Trump visit the 3rd Congressional District during this historic time. I thank him for his leadership and look forward to continuing to work with him on solving the problems we face as a nation.
