WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-03) issued the following statement after the House and Senate passed legislation to restore funding to the federal government and reauthorize the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). “Thankfully, Senate Democrats finally put their political games aside and have agreed to fund the government.” Luetkemeyer said. “The bill passed today, just like the bill passed in the House last week, extends the child health care program known as CHIP which over eight thousand children in the Third District rely on, funds our troops, and stops a number of harmful Obamacare taxes from going into effect. With the brinkmanship behind us, I am hopeful we can move on to tackling the priorities of the American people.” |
