Luetkemeyer Encourages 3rd District Students to Consider U.S. Military Service Academies

Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer is able to nominate exemplary students from Missouri’s Third Congressional District to attend the U.S. Military Service Academies, including the U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy, and U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.

“I am pleased to announce my office is now accepting U.S. Military Service Academy applications for the class of 2024! This is an opportunity to gain a strong college education and serve our nation,” said Congressman Luetkemeyer. “For those selected from the competitive field of qualified students from across the country, it’s a positive, life-changing experience. I urge you to contact my office to learn more about the admission process.”

The four United States Service Academies accepting Congressional nominations are West Point in New York (Army), the U.S. Naval Academy in Maryland (Navy and Marine Corps), the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado (Air Force), and the Merchant Marine Academy in New York (Merchant Marine). The U.S. Coast Guard Academy does not accept Congressional nominations, but Luetkemeyer’s office can provide information about it.

The acceptance process includes a formal application and interview to a panel of community volunteers from the district that have been selected by Luetkemeyer. Nominations are forwarded to the respective academies which notify students if they have been accepted.

Students can contact Luetkemeyer’s Jefferson City office at 573-635-7232 or visit Luetkemeyer.House.Gov for more information about the academy process.
