Luetkemeyer Supports Critically Important Bipartisan Legislation at Committee Markup

Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-03), Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Consumer Protection and Financial Institutions, voted in support of the Corporate Transparency Act of 2019 and the National Flood Insurance Program Reauthorization Act of 2019 at a House Financial Services Committee markup yesterday. Congressman Luetkemeyer released the following statement:

“Yesterday the House Financial Services Committee passed two critically important pieces of bipartisan legislation that I was proud to support. The Corporate Transparency Act will strengthen our financial system by gathering beneficial ownership information without burdening America’s small financial institutions. Congresswoman Maloney has been a tireless advocate for this issue and I appreciate her willingness to include many of my suggestions and priorities in this bill,” said Congressman Luetkemeyer. “Reauthorization of the National Flood Insurance Program has historically been a difficult issue that is never checked off the legislative to-do list, despite its importance to Americans across the nation. Representing a district that touches the Mississippi River, the Missouri River and the Lake of the Ozarks, flood insurance reauthorization has been one of my top priorities. I thank Chairwoman Waters and Ranking Member McHenry for including my provisions to get taxpayers off the hook and for working together in a bipartisan manner on a long-term reauthorization that will solve some of the systemic issues facing the NFIP.”
