WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-03) delivered the following remarks at the full House Financial Services Committee markup of a portion of President Biden’s $1.9 trillion stimulus package regarding the need to ensure American jobs are not destroyed based on political pressure and all legally operating businesses have access to financial services.

This trend is the politicization of banking by both regulators and left-wing activists who pressure banks to cut off financial services to lawful businesses across the United States… Not only is this morally wrong, but this trend can be catastrophic for the financial services industry and the economy if political views and social agendas determine who can and cannot receive a loan.” |
