For the second time this year, U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-3) will host a Veterans Benefits Workshop to better help 3rd Congressional District residents who have served our country better understand requirements for filing service-related claims with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

The workshop, at which Luetkemeyer will lead a discussion and staff will be on hand to assist veterans, will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Monday, November 25, at the Troy City Hall Municipal Center, 800 Cap Au Gris, in Troy, Mo. Entrance for parking will be at Cap Au Gris.

The workshop will provide free advice and guidance for those that need assistance when filing their veterans claims applications, completing necessary documents as well as understanding how the VA processes claims. A variety of veterans’ service organizations will be on hand including representatives from the following groups: American Legion; Disabled American Veterans (DAV), Missouri Veterans Commission, Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW); Department of Veterans Affairs Regional Office; Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center – St. Louis; and lawyers from the Missouri Bar Association.

“We have had great success serving veterans with these workshops in the past and we are looking forward to meeting with another group of folks to ensure that they have the information they need to receive the service they deserve from the VA,” Luetkemeyer said.

The workshop is the third overall hosted by Luetkemeyer, with the first held in Washington, Mo., in 2012 while the second was held in Jefferson City earlier this year.
