Luetkemeyer Small Business Bill Passes House with Bipartisan Support

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-03), Ranking Member on the House Small Business Committee released the following statement regarding bipartisan House passage of his bill, The Small Business Advocacy Improvements Act of 2022.

“The nation’s regulatory environment directly impacts small businesses and America’s entrepreneurs. With limited resources and staff, small business owners are often wearing many hats throughout the entire workday, including ensuring compliance with all federal regulations,” said Luetkemeyer.

“Now more than ever, small businesses, entrepreneurs, and startups need a strong advocate in Washington supporting them when it comes to regulations. My bill, which was favorably reported out of Committee by voice vote will improve and enhance the Office of Advocacy.”

Background:
The Small Business Advocacy Improvements Act of 2022 (H.R. 6454) expands the primary functions and additional duties of the Office of Advocacy of the Small Business Administration to include (1) examining the role of small businesses in the international economy, and (2) representing the views and interests of small businesses before foreign governments and international entities to contribute to regulatory and trade initiatives that may affect small businesses.
